I said as a joke in a previous post (regarding these very same exhausts) : "count how many suggestions I get to get B&B" (or something close, anyway). It boils down to personal likes. Who here can hear a mustang with Flowmasters from 8 blocks away and NOT know it`s a mustang? It was the most popular muffler ever made for that car, and everyone wanted them. Bassani made a better, MUCH more expensive exhaust, yet Flowmaster prevailed nonetheless. And chances are, if you rolled up next to someone with bassani, you`d take them. A flowmaster guy was going to smoke your ass. Not a hard and fast rule, just probability. B&B has got a nice stock appearance. The hiper is sort of a "musclecar" throwback for the Z. The fact of the matter is, the design of the Hiper is indeed sound, and has a legitimate reason to claim it flows more. Think about the argument at hand : "my 2.5 inch piece of straight pipe can flow more than your 2.5 inch piece of straight pipe." It`s not physically possible. The pipe with the fewest bends wins, given they are mandrel bends. When I first started modding my Z, I had 1500 bucks to spend. 500 to exhaust, 425 to ECU (thanks James), 125 for the POP charger, 200 for test pipes, and I stretched and got new tires. I was so much happier than had I spent 1200 on exhaust alone. It`s called "customizing", not "being a sheep and getting what everyone else has because I heard it was cool to have that brand". Remember Red Dog beer? Be your own dog. (now how`s that for a rant? :-) )
